Forget everything you thought you knew about grilling. From now on, you will be BBQ'n "Competition Style".

The first thing you do, is clean your grill. Yeah, yeah, I know.....just do it.

The second thing you do, once the grill is clean, is place a hardwood log in the center of the grill. Behind this log, place your charcoal. This is grilling in-direct in it's finest style. As the charcoal burns, it will burn the log, releasing a constant smoke effect. Additional wood chips, hickory and the like, can be added to enhance the experience.

The third thing you do is place the original grate where it usually goes. Only do this when you are ready to place the meat on it. Place the meat on this grate away from the fire,(opposite of where the fire is).

Fourth, put the "Thunder Pit" on the grill. Place the new grate in the "Thunder Pit", and
place the rest of the meat or veggies on it
. Use the entire grate. Experience has shown that you can expect to BBQ at least 50 pounds of meat at one time. That's enough for 35 people or 10 Texans!

That's it! Your done! Place the lid on the "Thunder Pit", sit back and enjoy yourself!
